Judy has over ten years experience in ecotourism in Kenya, eight of which were spent at the helm of the national ecotourism association, Ecotourism Kenya. 

She is credited, with initiation, development and implementation of one of the most successful sustainable tourism certification programmes in Africa, the Kenya Eco-rating scheme and the growth of community tourism in Kenya. In her eight years as CEO of Ecotourism Kenya, Judy has acquired immense knowledge in responsible tourism; community based tourism, traveler’s philanthropy and had just initiated a pilot carbon measurement project for tour operators before leaving Ecotourism Kenya.

Judy joined Basecamp Foundation in September 2008, as Chief Operations Officer, where she hopes to put the knowledge into practice and up responsible tourism using Basecamp destinations as case studies.
