HICA awards honour and recognise companies and individuals who make an extraordinary contribution to elevate the profile of the tourism sector in Southern Africa by promoting growth, investment, innovation and service excellence. This year, time constraints between the HICA 2010 and 2011 events circumvents us from hosting and judging the full array of HICA awards.
To maintain the tradition of our HICA awards, a decision was made to pay our respect to individuals, who are noted for their outstanding leadership ability. Hence, this year we will be presenting the HICA TOURISM BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AWARD.

HICA TOURISM BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AWARD
The leadership award pays tribute to an individual, who dedicate their life to:
- Human capital development;
- Job creation;
- Pursuing service excellence;
- Sustainable development (industry, environment, community);
- Good corporate governance;
- Innovations;
- Public private partnerships;
- and Transformation.
AWARD RULES
- This award is open to individuals who are engaged, directly and indirectly, in the tourism industry within Southern Africa.
- All nominations should be received by 25 March 2011.
- Nominations should be based on historical leadership behaviour and / or projects and programmes completed between January 2009 and December 2010.
- Incomplete nominations will not be considered;
- Supporting documentation will not be returned.
- Should the quality of entries not meet the required standard, the judges reserve the right not to declare finalists and or a winner;
- The award adjudication will take place between March and April 2011 by a panel of judges with knowledge and experience of the Tourism industry.
- The decision made by the judges will be final and binding.
- Finalists, and / or a representative must be available to attend the Awards ceremony that will take place on the 06th May 2011 at Fairmont Zimbali Resort.
